Back around 2004 my friend Kevin Rollins created an outreach paper to promote libertarian ideas to the liberal coffee shop crowd: The Free Liberal. I was one of the senior editors.
The idea was to get Libertarian activists around the country to buy copies in bulk to distribute to coffee shops and the like in their localities, possibly adding some local advertising and content within.
To demonstrate the idea we distributed the paper all over Asheville NC as well as parts of Northern VA. The paper was very well received by the intended audience. But finding activists willing to distribute the paper elsewhere proved difficult.
And so the physical paper folded, but the web site remains.
